RIte Aid 340B Notification

May 19, 2025

Dear Valued Partner,

For more than 60 years, Rite Aid has had the privilege of nurturing the health and championing the well-being of our customers. We are deeply proud of the relationships we’ve built and of our long-standing commitment to making everyday life a little healthier and easier.

Since emerging from our financial restructuring process in September, our business has continued to experience a number of financial challenges. Unfortunately, these challenges have only intensified as a result of the rapidly evolving retail and healthcare landscapes in which Rite Aid operates.

To address these issues, we've been evaluating several options over the last several months to identify the best path forward.

After considering all alternatives, the only viable path forward is to once again commence Chapter 11 proceedings. We will use this process to pursue a sale of our prescriptions, pharmacy and front-end inventory, and other assets. The court-supervised process offers the best opportunity to preserve jobs for our valued associates over the coming months while also ensuring that our customers can continue to access pharmacy services and products.

As such, we intend to wind down all 340B related operations, with the final replenishment occurring on 4/29/2025. During the bankruptcy process, we will continue to support customers and fill prescriptions in stores and online. We will make every effort to support our covered entity partners with closeout-related tasks. Termination notices will be mailed in the coming weeks.

If you have any further questions about what this means for you and your patients, please reach out to me at omcmahon@riteaid.com.

Thank you for your partnership and support.

Sincerely,Owen McMahon
